Sylvia, Doris and Jack are being honored with five others as the “Eight Over Eighty” by Weinberg Village on
October 31 at 3:00 PM at Congregation Schaarai Zedek. The “Eight Over Eighty” are being recognized for their dedicated help to others and their time and talents to the community.

Flowers for the New Year
Sisterhood is once again taking orders for your Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur flowers. $50 for delivery or $40, if you pick up at The Arrangement. Watch for order forms in the mail! Please send order form and payment (checks payable to: The Arrangement Florist) to Joni Hatch, 5212 W Neptune Way Tampa, FL 33609. Orders must be received by August 23.

6:30 PM—Shabbat Tampa
Rodeph Sholom unites with other Jewish congregations throughout greater Tampa to reach out to all unaffiliated Jews, to take part in a Shabbat service and dinner to follow. Dinner is complimentary to those guests attending who are not members of any local synagogue.

Come early to Shmoozefest and enjoy great bargains! 25% off Tallit for B’nei Mitzvahs and stop by the 50% off table for other $avings. Gift wrapping will be available. The Gift Shop also has wonderful cards for all occasions at a donation of $5 per card. Sales of these cards benefit the Jewish Seminary for Rabbinical Studies in New York.

Free food and games, including a dunk tank, arts & crafts, Big Kahuna water slide and more! Outside fun for the entire family! Hot dogs (veggie dogs upon request) and all the trimmings along with Chips, Philly’s Italian Ices, Lemonade, Tea and Crystal Lite. Come Shmooze!

“In the Beginning” covers the basics of Jewish rituals, beliefs, the differences with other religions and the history. Registration forms in the lobby. The class is open to all faiths.

7:30 PM—Sukkot Family Dinner Youth Group Fundraiser!
Outdoor* BBQ dinner catered by USY and Kadima youth groups. $14-Adults and children 12-17 and $8-Children 4-11 ($44 Maximum per family of two adults and two or more children). Reservations due no later than Thursday, September 16.

5:30 PM—“Potluck in the Hut”, A fun potluck dinner outside in the Sukkah!*

Bring a dairy or vegetarian dish to share and we will provide the paper goods and the drinks. Select an appetizer, main dish, salad or dessert to bring. RSVP with what you plan to bring to Judy Van Der Stelt by email or phone, (813) 837-1911.
This event is open to the community so bring your friends to Potluck in the Hut!

10:30 AM—Save the Date! Presentation on 250 years of Florida Jewish History
Includes a history of Jews in Tampa, presented by Marsha Zerivitz of the Miami Jewish Museum with a light lunch following. Coordinated by Sam Pincus. Open to the public and free of charge.


THURSDAY, October 28
Sisterhood’s combination Opening/Paid Up Event at the Tampa Museum of Art
A special docent tour of “The American Impressionists” followed by dinner catered by Mise en Place’s SONO Café. No charge for paid Sisterhood members. Further details will follow soon.

The Sisterhood Congregational Haggadah is available in the Gift Shop, $10 each. Discounts available for 10 or more copies.

Consider purchasing a High Holiday Prayer Book and create a lasting honor for your loved ones. The new
Machozor Lev Shalem (Full Heart) edition has new readings, translations and transliterations providing clear commentaries which explain prayer meanings. Available for donation to Congregation Rodeph Sholom or for home use. Cost is $40 per book and can be ordered through the office.

Bookplates will be available by August 16 to customize for your honors or memorials to your loved ones.
The deadline to have the bookplate personalized for the High Holidays is August 16.
