One of Sisterhood’s core functions is to support our synagogue, and we’re taking that mission to heart. We’ve started the New Year right with a good dose of tzadakkah, contributing thousands of dollars in hard-earned Sisterhood funds to Rodeph Sholom for the synagogue’s financial needs. Education is also a sisterhood priority, which is why Sisterhood recently purchased a new laptop computer for the synagogue’s Education Director. Oh, and did I mention the new laser jet printer that Sisterhood purchased for the synagogue? Not that our good deeds end with the High Holidays. Sisterhood continues its giving throughout the year, with all kinds of mitzvot.
Here are just a few examples of how we are lending a financial hand to do our part for Rodeph Sholom:
- Preparing and sponsoring a Shabbat Kiddush Lunch every month
- Continuing our Youth Scholarship Program
- Providing youth snacks for the synagogue’s Hebrew and Sunday School students
- Stocking and running the synagogue Gift Shop
Funding these and many other mitzvot is possible only through the generosity and diligence of our Sisterhood members. That’s why we’re redoubling our efforts for this year’s annual membership drive.
