Dear Friends,

Many people are beginning to return from the various places that they sought refuge during Irma.  We welcome all of you back and cannot wait to see all of you.  We still are here to help and want to encourage you all to avail yourselves of our assistance.

If you are in a home without power you do not need to be.  We do not know for sure when power will be restored and so we can help you find housing and power to recharge. Please email me or call the office and let us know that you do not have power. If you are in need of a place to keep your refrigerated products cold or your frozen products frozen please let us know and we will make room for your food in our freezers and refrigerators.  If you need a warm shower please let us know and we will find a house for you to shower at.  If you need a place with air conditioning to sleep at night please let us know and we will match you up with a house with power.

This is what community does in times of need.

Many people need help with charging their devices.  That isn't a problem.  Please come to Rodeph and feel free to use any of our outlets.  We are here to help you.

Before Irma struck I had begun to raise funds for relief efforts in Texas with regards to Harvey.  We had already raised $1000 for that cause.  We need to increase that amount a great deal as we are going to be raising money for Hurricane Irma relief now as well. What we will do is create a hurricane relief fund and split it 50/50 between the two. The money we raise will be donated to Jewish organizations that directly serve the communities in need.  It will be donated in the name of Rodeph Sholom and we will show the world that we care and understand that we must go out and make good things happen.  Please contribute to this fund so that we can do some great work.

If you need us we are here for you.
